One of the great wreck dives of the world, the
Empress of Ireland has an incredible history along
with the challenges of extremely cold water and
poor visibility.
Lying in the St. Lawrence seaway, the cold and
brackish water has kept this wreck amazingly
intact since 1914. Sinking in only in 14 minutes,
1012 out of 1477 passengers perished.
Joining this dive expedition requires technical
dive training including decompression techniques,
advanced wreck, and dry suit experience in cold
water.
This expedition is planned for July or August 2008.
